One of the great examples of Art‐Deco style in Lower Manhattan, this 1931 Landmark designed by noted architect Ralph Walker is the original headquarters for the Irving Trust Bank. The Landmark will be transformed into condominiums and rental apartments. SURFACE DESIGN developed a scope of work for the restoration and cleaning of its monumental limestone exterior as well as the roofing and waterproofing of more than 30 setback roofs and terraces. SURFACE DESIGN is the consultant for the replacement of existing historic double hung windows, the restoration of historic monumental windows in bronze and extruded aluminum, and the restoration of the priceless mosaic tiled bank reception room at the ground floor.
